Effective September 3, 2017, the U.S. Postal Service is re-classifying First-Class Mail® Parcels as retail prices for First-Class™ Package Services. First-Class Mail Parcels will increase on average 9.9%.
What you need to know:
- New retail rate category will be called First Class Package Service Retail and include pricing for parcels weighing up to 13 oz.
- Existing First Class Package Service commercial price categories will be unaffected and provide pricing for packages up to 16oz.
- If you have a postage meter, you will need to do a software update. If you use PC Postage, your rates will be updated automatically.
