Potential UPS® Strike

We want to keep our audience and clients informed by telling you all about the potential for a UPS® Teamsters strike in the near future. Their union contract is set to expire on July 31, 2023, which is just 2 short weeks away. A strike of this magnitude would be the largest strike in the United States in recent decades and could cripple the US economy. The UPS® handles roughly one-fourth of packages shipped daily. The strike would impact 340,000 UPS® workers. The UPS® last went on strike in 1997 and the strike lasted 15 days. The Teamsters are asking for “better pay for all workers, eliminates a two-tier wage system, increases full-time jobs, resolves safety and health concerns, and provides stronger protections against managerial harassment.”
